Fiesta-in-the-zzzzzzzzz

Fiesta was really fun! It was warm but breezy and sunny. Temps were in the low 80's. I have a slight sunburn which will probably be gone by morning. I found some cute Christmas items. We looked at LOTS of really neat stuff. I bought some gifts for my husband and kids to give me for Christmas or my birthday. And, yes, I ate my way around the lake. It started out with lamb gyros, followed by cherry Italian ice, cinnamon covered almonds (I brought those home), Mr. Softee ice cream (that brand of ice cream truck used to come through my neighborhood when I was a kid), and grilled corn-on-the-cob. I passed the curly potatoes, the cotton candy and the kettle corn. I had run out of room! But it IS a 2-day event...so there's always tomorrow. I'm so proud of myself. I guess I have shrunk my stomach. Maybe there's hope for me yet. That, or I am delerious from overeating! Either way, I had a fabulous day! And now my feet and I are tired! I think I hear a nap calling me!

Fiesta-in-the-Park

I am getting excited for Saturday to roll around. It is my annual girlfriend-get-together-no homework-eat-your-way-around-the-lake day. It is a huge outdoor craft fair held yearly in downtown Orlando. It is a 2 day event, but my friends all meet on Saturday. We arrive about 10 am and stay to closing at 6 pm. There have been years when it has rained, or it has been freezing cold or hotter than a summer day. I think this year it should be like baby bear...just right!

We start our day out looking at crafts but then become very hungry smelling all the vendor booths and eat an early lunch like at 10:30 in the morning. Then we wander but come to any number of booths that sell things like kettle corn, Italian ices, cinnamon covered almonds, soda, hot dogs, funnel cakes, and fried potatoes that crunch like potato chips but are one whole peeled potato. Of course one cannot walk by without purchasing some to just nibble. Before long it's gone and another booth of food pops up. I buy Christmas gifts, browse at all kinds of jewlery, T shirts, sweatshirts, pins and more. Luckily we are constantly walking and burning off all those calories or we would be too large to fit back in our cars.

I am counting down the days to Fiesta! Maybe I'll run into some of you?

And away it went

Well, my daughter decided to stay at a friend's apartment this weekend, and she went out to her car last night, but it was gone. She had parked where she shouldn't....and it got towed away. Her cell phone died (forgot to pack the charger) and she isn't home yet, so I have no idea if she got the car or not. It was easier when she was 4. The problems were so much more simple. Being a parent is rarely easy.

My First Venture

This is my first attempt at blogging. Several relatives have been blogging for years. They will be amazed I have moved into the 21st century. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks....but I'm still learning.

Graduation is only 6 weeks from yesterday, which means only 5 more weeks to finish all school projects. I am becoming excited with the thought of being done with school and apprehensive about the job I would like to have. It will be like going back to school all over again. I hope I'm ready for the the challenge.
